Michael B. Wood
Michael B. Wood, MD is President Emeritus and former CEO
of Mayo Clinic Foundation in Rochester, MN, USA. He is currently Professor, Orthopedic
Surgery, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and serves in a consultant capacity at
Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
Dr. Wood is an orthopedic surgeon and a member
of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Society of Reconstructive
Microsurgery, where he is past president.
He is a past member of the Board of Overseers
of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (United States Dept. Of Commerce,
Washington, D.C.) and has been a past president of the Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award Foundation, as well as a past member of the Board of Directors of
the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (Cambridge, MA). Dr. Wood is also a current
member of the Board of Directors of STERIS, Corp. (STE, NYSE), Cubist Pharmaceuticals,
Inc. (CBST, NASDAQ), Assistive Technology Group, Inc. (ATGI) and SingHealth (Singapore).
